FEDERAL WAY — Chico McClatcher returned a punt 61 yards for a touchdown and Keenan Curran broke a 99-yard scoring run late in the game as Federal Way cruised past Rogers of Puyallup 46-28 Friday night in the first round of the Class 4A football playoffs.
Big plays were the order of the night for the second-ranked Eagles. Zeek McNeal added a 37-yard TD run and JJ McNeal returned an interception 40 yards for a score.
Federal Way led 40-0 at halftime.
McClatcher, a sophomore, returned to the Eagles' lineup after missing two games because of illness.
In the quarterfinals next weekend, Federal Way (11-0) will play the winner of Saturday's first-round game between Arlington and third-ranked Camas.
LaGrant Pegram had a 40-yard TD reception and an 85-yard kickoff return for a score for the Rams (6-5).
The teams met in the season opener, with Federal Way winning 41-14.

Auburn 20, Eastmont 7
In Wenatchee, Brier Atkinson ran for three short second-half touchdowns as the unranked Trojans (9-2) knocked out the Big Nine champion Wildcats (8-3). Eastmont was in the playoffs for the first time since 1986.
The game was scoreless at halftime.
In the quarterfinals, Auburn will face the winner of Saturday's game in Spokane between No. 7 Newport and No. 5 Mead.
Auburn has lost only to Kentwood and second-ranked Federal Way.
Sumner 26, Kingston 9
At Sunset Chev Stadium, Jeremy Jackson returned an interception 46 yards for a touchdown as the 10th-ranked Spartans (9-2) beat the Bucs (6-5).
Chase Torgenson had a 6-yard TD run and a 19-yard scoring pass to DeJon Lynch for Sumner. Lynch also broke a 52-yard touchdown run.
Sumner will play seventh-ranked Mark Morris or No. 2 Lynden next weekend in the quarterfinals. Those teams meet Saturday in Bellingham.
Archbishop Murphy 45, Bremerton 21
At Silverdale Stadium, the eighth-ranked Wildcats (8-2) powered into the quarterfinals with a victory over No. 9 Bremerton (9-2).
Archbishop Murphy, the state runner-up the past two years, will face sixth-ranked Tumwater next weekend. Tumwater beat Steilacoom 45-22 in its first-round game.
