Jackson football
Plaisance, a senior, passed for a school-record 508 yards in the Timberwolves' 56-34 victory over Tahoma that put the Timberwolves in the state playoffs. He completed 21 of 33 passes with five touchdowns and no interceptions.
Elisa Fang
Newport girls swimming
Fang, a freshman, was the only double individual winner and was part of two winning relays as the Knights earned their first district championship in more than 25 years. She won the 50-yard freestyle (24.56 seconds) and 100 backstroke (58.44).
Mercer Island volleyball team
Coach Susan McKay's Islanders swept through the tough Sea-King 3A District tournament with victories over Holy Names, Bainbridge and Mount Si. Sara Lindquist (55 total kills) and Kris Brackman (26 kills, 35 digs, nine blocks) led the way.
