KIRKLAND — Blaine's Mario Gobbato finished his high-school career by rushing for a state-record 480 yards in a 50-20 nonleague victory over Cedar Park Christian of Bothell Friday night at Juanita High School.
His big night also gave him 2,821 yards this season, breaking the record set last year by Interlake's Jordan Todd. Todd had 2,681.
Gobbato finished his career with 5,958 yards, fifth on the state list.
Despite Gobbato's record-smashing season, the Borderites (7-4) failed to reach the playoffs.
