SHELBY, N.C. — Lakeside Recovery of Bellevue will play for the American Legion Baseball World Series championship on Tuesday after beating New Orleans 10-6 Monday night.

Lakeside (39-14) will face Brooklawn, N.J. (58-4), which handed the Bellevue team its only loss in the tournament, 3-2 in 10 innings on Sunday. The title game is scheduled for 2 p.m. PDT.

Andrew Kemmerer and Jake Bakamus drove in three runs apiece, Mitchell Morimoto scored four runs and stole two bases, and Aaron Sandefur scored three times for Lakeside.

Kemmerer's sacrifice fly in the fifth snapped a 4-4 tie, and Bakamus hit a two-run single in the seventh to put Lakeside up 7-4.

Matt Lunde got the final out after New Orleans scored two in the ninth. Starter Ethan Kalin worked four innings and Jacob Rosen pitched 4-2/3.

Lakeside is made up of players from Issaquah, Skyline and Newport high schools.

• University of Washington golfer Chris Williams remained the world's No. 1-ranked amateur golfer, clinching automatic spots in the 2013 U.S. and British Opens. Williams, a senior-to-be from Moscow, Idaho, remained No. 1 despite losing last week in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Amateur. The 2013 U.S. Open is scheduled for June 13-16 at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pa. Next year's British Open will be July 18-21 at Muirfield in Scotland.

• Ginnie Crawford, former Rainier Beach High School standout, won the 100-meter hurdles in 12.68 seconds at the Gugl Games in Linz, Austria, beating fellow Americans Queen Harrison (12.77) and Olympic bronze medalist Kellie Wells (12.83).

• Olympic swimmer Ariana Kukors, who placed fifth in the women's 200 individual medley in London, will be welcomed home at a reception at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Auburn City Hall. She attended high school at Auburn Mountainview.

• Kadie Brown of Federal Way, a senior at Tacoma's Annie Wright School, won a silver medal with partner Christine Cavallo of Windermere, Fla., in junior pairs at the World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Lindsay Hochman of Seattle was on the lightweight senior women quadruple sculls crew that placed fourth.
