Girls contenders

Federal Way Eagles

Record: 22-4

Coach: Danny Graham

Key players: Darah Huertas-Vining, 5-3, Sr., 16 ppg; Raven Benton, 5-9, Jr., 15.2 ppg; Dyesha Belhumeur, 5-7, Sr., 10.5 ppg.

Inside look: Eagles, second last year, are undersized but can play with anyone when they rebound well. Huertas-Vining can be a three machine.

Gonzaga Prep Bullpups

Coach: Mike Arte

Key players: Lindsay Stockton, 5-7, Sr., 12.1 ppg; Madison Wright, 5-10, Jr., 9.3 ppg; Cassie Anderson, 5-8, Sr., 8.7 ppg.

Inside look: Late-season surge has reloaded Bullpups in quarterfinals for first time since 1983. They can go 9-10 players deep, led by savvy Stockton.

Central Valley Bears

Record: 23-2

Coach: Freddie Rehkow

Key players: Brooke Gallaway, 5-10, Sr., 17.1 ppg; Madison Hovren, 5-11, Fr., 11.5 ppg; Katie Estey, 5-6, Sr., 9.2 ppg.

Inside look: Bears were ranked No. 1 much of season, then had to claw their way here. Gallaway gives them a shot at fourth title.

Skyview Storm

Location: Vancouver

Record: 22-3

Coach: Jennifer Buscher

Key players: Brooke Bowen, 5-10, Sr., 13 ppg; Delaney Keser, 5-10, Sr., 10 ppg; Jocelyn Adams, 6-1, So., 9 ppg.

Inside look: If Storm plays as it did in knocking off top-ranked Lake Stevens on Saturday, first state title is a possibility.

Jackson Timberwolves

Location: Mill Creek

Record: 20-4

Coach: Jeannie Boyer

Key players: Kristin Stoffel, 6-0, Sr., 14 ppg; Sierra Anderson, 5-6, So., 12.7 ppg; Kelli Kingma, 5-9, So., 11.6 ppg.

Inside look: With multiple weapons, size and speed, Timberwolves are tough matchup and should be in trophy mix.

Eastlake Wolves

Record: 15-9

Coach: Sara Goldie

Key players: Kendra Morrison, 6-1, Sr., 13.5 ppg; Caleigh McCabe, 5-7, Sr., 9.1 ppg; Marijke Vanderschaaf, 6-3, So., 7.0 ppg.

Inside look: Morrison is a double-double threat on team that could surprise. Wolves' record is deceiving.
