Lakes' Cedric Dozier sticks with decision to attend Cal
Recent visit to Washington State didn't change Dozier's mind
Seattle Times staff reporter
Lakes receiver Cedric Dozier announced Tuesday he will play college football at California.
One day after teammate Zach Banner revealed his decision to play at USC, Dozier stood on the same stage and said he would stick with the Golden Bears — he originally committed there in October — instead of flipping to Washington State.
He gave a long and emotional speech, thanking all the people who have had an impact on his life.
One of five Seattle Times Blue Chip recruits, Dozier faced a tough decision once Cal coaches Tosh Lupoi and Eric Kiesau left the Golden Bears to join Washington's staff.
He recently went on a visit to Pullman, then decided to pass on an official visit to Washington last weekend. After taking time to weigh his options, the U.S. Army All-American decided the first fit was the best fit.
