Lindsey Moore, who led Kentwood High School to the Class 4A state championship, has been named Gatorade State Player of the Year in girls basketball.

Moore, a 5-foot-10 senior point guard who will play for Nebraska next season, was named MVP of the state tournament last week. She averaged almost 16 points and eight assists for the Conquerors this season.

"She's the best player in the state," said Kentwood coach Keith Hennig. "Lindsey could honestly score 30 to 40 points a night if she wanted, but she's probably one of the most unselfish players you will ever see."

Moore is now a finalist for the national player of the year award.

Last year's Gatorade state player of the year was Prairie's Ashley Corral, who is playing for USC this season.

Gaddy, Bradley selected for Nike Hoop Summit

PORTLAND — Washington Huskies recruit Abdul Gaddy and his former Bellarmine Prep teammate, Avery Bradley, have been named to the U.S. juniors team for the Nike Hoop Summit on April 11 at the Rose Garden.

The 10-man U.S. team, which also includes UCLA-bound Mike Moser of Portland, will play a World team in the game for players 19 or younger.

Gaddy, a 6-3 guard, played for Bellarmine Prep of Tacoma. Bradley, who played this season for a Nevada prep school after playing at Bellarmine Prep, signed with Texas.
