Welcome the Fourth of July at Seattle’s only midnight run, the Firecracker 5000 5K Run/Walk. Red, white blue costumes with a patriotic theme are welcome and all participants get a glow-in-the-dark T-shirt and bracelet. Registration opens at 10 p.m. for the 11:55 Wednesday start time from Seattle Center International Fountain. There’s a brief awards ceremony at 12:30 a.m. and the course reopens to vehicle traffic at 12:40 a.m.; participants still on the course can finish on sidewalks. Because of the late hour of the event, no dogs or stroller are allowed; registration is $40-$45 (www.promotionevents.com/firecracker ).
