Try out the sport of sprint canoe and kayak and learn about Seattle Canoe and Kayak Club programs at their free open house Saturday. Great for year-around cross-training, sprint canoe and kayak requires no experience beyond basic swimming skills. Morning open-house events, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., focus on the junior sprint team for students ages 10 and older. Masters open house takes place 1-3 p.m. for adults ages 18 and older, though anyone can participate in either event. No registration is required; bring a change of clothes in case you get wet. Parents and guardians need to stop by to sign consent waivers for participants under 18 years old; Seattle Canoe and Kayak Club at Green Lake Small Craft Center near the Aqua Theater at the south corner of Green Lake, 5900 West Green Lake Way N., Seattle; free (206-684-4074 or www.seattlecanoeclub.org.).
