Join a Bellevue Parks ranger at a couple of different hike and walk events Jan. 19.

Take a hike with a Bellevue Parks ranger Saturday at Coal Creek Park. This event is part of a series of hikes throughout the year to explore Bellevue parks and trails. Dress for the weather, bring water and wear sturdy shoes for the moderately difficult five-mile hike that begins at Red Town Trailhead on Lakemont Boulevard Southeast, Bellevue, at 10 a.m. Saturday. The event is free; for more information, call 425-452-4195.

For a shorter outing, learn about wildlife in winter on the Wonderful Winter Adaptations walk at Lake Hills Greenbelt Ranger Station, 15416 S.E. 16th St., Bellevue, at 2 p.m. Saturday. This is also free, donations appreciated; information available by calling 425-452-7225. Registration is not required for either event, and all ages are welcome.
