Deck your bike with lights for holiday-themed rides with the Cascade Bicycle Club this week. Year-around club rides vary in length and pace, including shorter, easy (under 10 mph) and leisurely (10-12 mph) paced rides that welcome nonmembers and newcomers, as long as they follow the rules: Wear a properly fitted helmet, carry a flat-fix kit, arrive at least 10 minutes before start time and ride in safe, legal manner.

Take a 20-plus mile, leisurely paced ride with some hills to see the poinsettias at Molbak’s, 11 a.m. Sunday, Sammamish River Park, Bothell; or a 15-mile, easy pace, mostly flat ride to Candy Cane Lane, bike lights required, 4 p.m. Sunday from Wallingford Center, Seattle. Celebrate the Winter Solstice with a 10-15 mile, easy pace, mostly flat ride, bike lights required, 5:30 p.m. Friday from Gas Works Park, Seattle. Steady rain, ice or snow cancels most rides, the Candy Cane Lane ride is an exception and will go in the rain (www.cascade.org).
