Earthworks Tour Inaugural Ride & Celebration

Art and fitness join together with the opening of a bicycle route that connects four art-inspired landscapes in the Green River Valley.

On Saturday, the Kent Arts Commission and the Cascade Bicycle Club will host the first tour of the pathway linking the Herbert Bayer Earthwork (shown above), Robert Morris Earthwork, Lorna Jordan's Waterworks Gardens and Green River Natural Resources Area. Events include bike rides, music and art activities. The landscapes are known internationally and the King County Landmarks Commission named the Bayer Earthwork a local landmark of exceptional significance. The starting line opens 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Herbert Bayer Canyon Earthworks Park, 742 E. Titus St., Kent; free, preregister (www.KentArts.org/earthworks).
