Fit & Fun |

May is a hot month for fundraising runs/walks. Here are just a few:

Sunday, The American Lung Association's Fight for Air Run/Walk: At Seattle's Warren G. Magnuson Park. The 3-mile course is paved and flat. Children, families and dogs on leashes are welcome. The Radio Disney Road Crew will make an appearance (www.seattlerunwalk.org).

May 13, Run Like a Mother 5K: At Warren G. Magnuson Park. While women run the 5K, kids 11 and younger can join a 1-mile run. It benefits the local nonprofit Outdoors For All, which enriches the lives of children and adults with disabilities through outdoor recreation (www.runlikeamotherrace.com).

May 20, West Seattle 5K Run/Walk: Sponsored by the West Seattle High School PTSA. The course begins at the Alki Bath House and proceeds along Alki Avenue Southwest (www.westseattle5k.com).

May 27, Good Karma 5K: Participants can choose where — among 10 charities — their fundraising goes. The event, at Seward Park, also will feature stations where you can help specific groups trying to aid the needy (www.goodkarma5k.com).

For more events, see "Running" listings every Friday in Community Datebook in the Weekend Plus section of The Seattle Times.
