Community events for the weekend of July 19-20, 2014, include the West Seattle Grand Parade, East Asian Cultural Celebration and Family Art Day.

West Seattle Grand Parade

Kiddie Parade, 11 a.m. Saturday, California Avenue Southwest from Southwest Genesee Street to Southwest Edmunds Street; Grand Parade with marching bands, antique cars, floats, community organizations, police motorcycle drill teams, 11 a.m. on California Avenue Southwest from Southwest Lander Street to Southwest Edmunds Street, Seattle (www.thewestseattleparade.com/).

Alki Arts Fair: Art vendors and demonstrations, children’s art activities, food vendors, music. 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Alki Beach Park, 1702 Alki Ave. S.W., Seattle (alkiartfair.org/).

King County Fair: Livestock, rides, live music, Mutton Bustin’, rodeo; 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, noon-9 p.m. Sunday, Enumclaw Expo Center, 45224 284th Ave. S.E., Enumclaw; $5-$7 (thekingcountyfair.com/).

East Asian Cultural Celebration: Traditional music and dance performances by groups representing Cambodian, Laotian, Filipino, Indonesian, Taiwanese, Thai and Vietnamese culture, noon-4 p.m. Saturday, Saltwater State Park, 25205 Eighth Place S., Des Moines; Discover Pass required ($10/day or $30/year) for vehicle access (www.parks.wa.gov/calendar.aspx).

Family Art Day: Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA) and Kids Discovery Museum (KiDiMu) celebration of the arts with music, entertainment, art activities, artist demonstrations, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday in the plaza between Kids Discovery Museum and Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, 100 Ravine Lane N.E. Mill Creek Festival and Street Fair: Arts, crafts and food vendors, entertainment, pet plaza arena with vendors, animal entertainment, kids’ activities, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday; beer and wine garden, noon-8 p.m. Saturday, noon-6 p.m. Sunday, Mill Creek Town Center, 153rd Street Southwest and Main Street, Mill Creek; free shuttle from parking at H.M. Kla Ha Ya Days: Carnival, Street Fair with entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, salmon barbecue, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, noon-4 p.m. Sunday; grand parade, 10:30 a.m. Saturday; Frog Jumping Contest, frogs provided, 2 p.m. Saturday, $5; Extreme Bed Race, 4:30 p.m. Saturday; Balloon Glow, 10 p.m. Saturday; Custom and Classic cars show, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Snohomish (klahayadays.com).
