Hungry?

Take a stroll through this weekend’s Bite of Seattle’s array of food choices filling Seattle Center and you will be. More than 40 restaurants offer combo plates for $8 or less, a Just a Bite option for $3.75 or less and a Hope Heart Right Bite healthy menu item.

Many limited-menu vendors offer summer favorites like corn dogs, shaved ice, corn on the cob and elephant ears, and desserts, from strawberry shortcake, frozen custard and funnel cakes to deep-fried cookies.

Sample tastes from top local chefs for a good cause at The Alley, seven restaurants daily serving bites for $10 to benefit Food Lifeline. The Alley is in Alki Courtyard near KeyArena and the outdoor Alley Wine Garden Stage with smooth jazz, folk and acoustic performers and Washington wine-tasting.

Along with beer/wine gardens around the grounds, beer fans can sample from a selection of 70 craft brews from 35 breweries at the Bite Craft Beer & Cider Tasting inside Fisher Pavilion, $20 for a 5-ounce mug and five tastes, additional tastes $2 each.

Get inspired to create your own culinary masterpieces at daily “Bite Cooks!” chef cooking demos and competitions on the Fisher Pavilion roof, hosted by “Chef in the Hat” Thierry Rautureau.

Entertainment on four music stages includes the Family Fun Zone Entertainment Stage for kids. Gamers of all ages can check out the latest at the Play Nintendo Tour video playground in the Armory. On Friday evening, grab some food and a spot on the grass at Mural Amphitheater for Bite Movie Night’s 8:30 p.m. showing of “Back to the Future.”

The popular Bite draws huge crowds, so it’s a good idea to plan ahead for transportation options. The Seattle Monorail departs every 10 minutes for the short trip between downtown Seattle and Seattle Center and is easy to get to via Sound Transit Link Light Rail, Seattle Streetcar or Metro bus. Seattle Center has bike racks and is accessible for cyclists from Myrtle Edward Bike Trail and Dexter Avenue Bike Trail.

Note that hours vary at some Bite attractions, including The Alley, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, and Bite Craft Beer Tasting, 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. The Bite requests that pets be left at home.
