RANT To all the people who’ve been randomly firing their guns near Sam Smith Park recently: one of your stray bullets pierced my parked car and broke the rear window, went through the back seat and lodged in the front seat. Let’s not forget it could have been a person who was hit. Frightening. Please put your guns away, people!

RAVE To the cabdriver who gave me the Ethiopian music CD he was playing after I arrived at my destination and inquired about the artist. I was on the mend from a concussion and hadn’t spoken the entire ride. His generosity was so kind and unexpected, it brought me both a tear and a smile.
