Kate Spade’s pop-art inspired spring collection is a bit hard to miss. The brightly colored bags, iPhone cases, wallets and other small goods adorned with Roy Lichtenstein-esque comic art — well, they pop. In Seattle’s mostly gray spring weather, these quirky, fun pieces add a bright note to any wardrobe. And who doesn’t want to walk around looking like they belong in the Museum of Modern Art?

The wearin’ of the green

On St. Patrick’s Day, it seems appropriate to remember that almost everyone (particularly many of us pale Seattleites) looks terrific in green — and that Pantone, the company that decides such things, has named “Emerald” as the 2013 Color of the Year. (Last year’s color, in case you missed it, was “Tangerine Tango.”) Perhaps a new green sweater for spring? A cheery shamrock-print skirt? A green streak in your hair? Regardless, happy St. Pat’s Day.
