‘Remembering Dr. King,’ eagles, dragonboating | Weekend Preview
Activities for the weekend of Jan. 17-20, 2012, include King County’s “Remembering Dr. King” celebration, bald-eagle viewing on the Skagit River and dragonboating. Films opening include “Mama” and “Broken City.”

“Mama”: Guillermo del Toro produced this new horror film about a couple raising two young girls who spent five years alone in the forest. It has midnight previews Thursday and opens Friday at several theaters.
“Broken City”: Allen Hughes’ first film as a solo director stars Russell Crowe as a politician and Mark Wahlberg as a private eye. It has midnight previews Thursday and opens Friday at several theaters.
“The Last Stand”: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Forest Whitaker star in this new crime drama. It also has midnight previews on Thursday and opens Friday at several theaters.
“Free Radicals”: This documentary looks at the history of avant-garde cinema. It opens Friday at the Grand Illusion.
“Law in These Parts”: Ra’anan Alexandrowicz’s documentary that presents a case against the occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. It opens Friday at the Northwest Film Forum.
