BeBe Winans joins ‘Black Nativity’ this weekend
Grammy Award-winning singer BeBe Winans joins “Black Nativity” in Seattle for shows Friday-Sunday.
The joyous Seattle tradition that is “Black Nativity” gains a gospel star for its shows this weekend: Grammy-winning singer BeBe Winans (pictured), of the noted musical Winans clan.
Now in its third year at the Moore (it spent 12 years at Intiman Theatre), the Langston Hughes-penned “Black Nativity” includes rousing music from Pastor Patrinell Wright and the Black Nativity choir, a live band, poetry and dance. Jamel Gaines, founder of Creative Outlet Dance Theatre of Brooklyn, is the choreographer for this year’s run.
Performances continue at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday; shows with Winans are 7:30 p.m. Friday, and 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Moore, 1932 Second Ave., Seattle; $22.50-$62.50 (877-784-4849 or www.stgpresents.org).
