Kent Winterfest Celebration

Santa arrives in a mini-parade on Second Avenue to Town Square Plaza to receive the key to the city from the mayor to open the holiday season, with music, kids’ story times and crafts, 3:30 p.m., lighting of the Christmas tree and Town Square, 5:30 p.m., festivities continuing until 9 p.m., sponsored by Kent Lions, Second Avenue and Smith Street, Kent (kcdays.com/winterfest).

Burien Winterfest: Shopping, entertainment, horse-and-carriage rides, holiday crafts for kids, photos with Saint Nick for dogs and people, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Southwest 152nd Street and Sixth Avenue Southwest, Burien (www.discoverburien.com).
