If you've watched and wondered about those rowers gliding across the water, take advantage of the offer by the Lake Stevens Rowing Club.
During the annual Aquafest in Lake Stevens, from Friday to Sunday, the club will offer a free introduction to the sport through 90-minute rowing sessions that include "on-the-water" instruction in one of its racing shells.
The sessions will be from 5 to about 7 p.m. Friday and 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, go to www.lakestevensrowing.com or call 888-ROW-LSRC. Walk-ups are welcome.
The three-day festival, at North Cove Park, will have a number of other activities, both on water and land.
The festival also includes parades, several carnival rides, food booths, entertainment, fireworks and a car show.
