JERSEY CITY, N.J. —

New Jersey authorities have identified a man injured in a motorcycle accident on The New Jersey Turnpike as the keyboardist for a popular Uruguayan rock band.

The Jersey Journal ( http://bit.ly/SjxJzx) reports that the injured man is 40-year-old Marcel Curuchet of Montevideo, the keyboardist for the group No Te Va Gustar (You Won't Like It).

State Police Sgt. Greg Williams tells the newspaper that Curuchet lost control of his Kawasaki motorcycle on a curve along the Turnpike extension in Jersey City on Thursday, and struck a concrete barrier.

The Journal says the band's Facebook page reported that Curuchet had been heading to a show at the New York club B.B. King's when the accident occurred.

A Jersey City Medical Center spokesman says Curuchet is in critical but stable condition.
