What's black-and-white and can be played all over? The answer is likely to be found in large numbers Thursday through June 21 at the Leavenworth International Accordion Celebration, which includes a grand parade of accordions June 20 at noon.
Make no mistake, this celebration is not just fun: There's stiff competition in categories that range in age and genre, with additional awards for bands, duets and showmanship.
When not performing in or listening to competition, spectators can enjoy evening recitals from Andy Mirkovich, Janet Todd and the S-Bahn Band, among others. Other to-dos: clinics on all things accordion, including repair, history and connecting with the audience.
