KPLU-FM (88.5) has named Paul Stankavich as its general manager. He succeeds Martin Neeb, who recently retired after 25 years at the NPR station.

Stankavich, 60, is the president and general manager of a public-radio station and a TV station in Anchorage, and he also oversees day-to-day operations of the Alaska Public Radio Network.

His arrival means the departure of Kerry Swanson, a 20-year employee and one of the station's first overnight jazz hosts, who has been serving as interim GM. Swanson had been the chief operating officer, and that job has been eliminated as part of a station reorganization.

Florangela Davila,

Seattle Times staff reporter
