South Shore School students to move to different buildings

South Shore School students will move to two different buildings now that theirs closed because of air-quality issues.

South Shore School students will move to two different buildings now that theirs closed because of air-quality issues.

Students in kindergarten through grade five will move to Columbia Elementary in Columbia City, where South Shore was housed while its new building was being built. Sixth- and seventh-graders will move to a building at Rainier Beach High School.

School will resume Monday for all but preschool students. District officials say they need to meet a licensing requirement for that age group, which will take a week or two to get.
