Seattle's Benjamin Gibbard performs on 'The Colbert Report' — and he sounds awesome
Indie music listeners and fake news lovers rejoice!
Benjamin Gibbard appeared on "The Colbert Report" last night to perform songs from his new album, "Former Lives."
IMHO, the front man for Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service has one of the greatest, most original voices in music.
Gibbard's interview with host Stephen Colbert was, uh, delightfully awkward. The faux newsman took issue with the singer's choice of attire on his show, which included a flannel shirt and jeans.
"Maybe stand a little closer to the razor tomorrow. Grow up," the bespectacled comedian advised.
Gibbard's response: "I'm from Seattle. This is formal where I come from."
Touche.
