Cougars earn All-Pac-12 soccer honors

Washington State senior midfielder Micaela Castain was named Pac-12 women’s soccer Player of the Year and the Cougars’ Keidane McAlpine was selected as Coach of the Year.

The Cougars’ Rachael Doyle and Nicole Setterlund were picked to the second team.

Washington’s Molly Boyd, Isabel Farrell and Megan Kufeld were honorable-mention selections.

Men’s soccer

Seattle University, the Western Athletic Conference regular-season champions, dominated the league’s postseason honors as coach Pete Fewing was named Coach of the Year, Miguel Gonzalez was Offensive Player of the Year, and Kyle Bjornethun was picked Freshman of the Year.

• Washington freshman Mason Robertson was chosen the NSCAA Player of the Week as well as Pac-12 Player of the Week.

• Seattle Pacific’s Cody Lang, Bryson Pavel, Davis Karaica and Anthony Mohammed and Western Washington’s Troy McCarty and Andrew Weishaar were voted to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference first team.

• No. 3 seed Concordia advanced to the Cascade Collegiate Conference final with a 4-0 shutout victory over Northwest University (13-6) in Kirkland.

• Gonzaga’s Heather Johnson was named to the All-West Coast Conference second team.
