New Mexico defeats Washington State men
Tony Snell scored 21 points to help New Mexico beat the Washington State men 72-62 in the 76 Classic basketball tournament in Anaheim, Calif. WSU fell to 2-3.

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Tony Snell scored 21 points and New Mexico led throughout to beat Washington State 72-62 Friday in the 76 Classic basketball tournament.
Kendall Williams added 17 points and seven rebounds as the Lobos (3-2) regrouped from an overtime loss to Santa Clara a day earlier.
Washington State (2-3) missed 10 of its first 12 shots and fell behind 21-7. The Cougars made 10 of their 18 turnovers in the opening nine minutes.
Faisal Aden scored 25 points on 10-for-16 shooting to lead WSU. Brock Motum added 10 points and a game-high eight rebounds.
New Mexico made 9 of 19 three-point attempts, compared with 5 of 18 for the Cougars.
