Suspended Washington State basketball star Klay Thompson apologized to the crowd a few minutes before the Cougars tipped off against UCLA on Saturday.
Thompson, the leading scorer in the Pac-10, was cited for marijuana possession after Washington State's victory on Thursday night. Coach Ken Bone suspended him for one game, and he was in street clothes on the bench Saturday.
Thompson told the crowd that he made a mistake and used bad judgment. The crowd roared and he was hugged by teammates.
