WSU stadium makeover Phase 3 might be set to resume
Washington State's football renovations had been put on hold because of bad economy

Washington State has scheduled a news conference for this afternoon at Martin Stadium, which the school says will address its phase-3 renovation of the football facility.
Indications are WSU may be proceeding with its long-planned remodel of the stadium, which was put on hold a year ago by severe economic conditions.
Phase 3 of the project was to expand the north side of the stadium by 2,200 seats and add luxury suites, loge boxes and club seats, and it was originally going to begin early in 2009 and be completed by the 2010 season.
After it was delayed, WSU athletic director Jim Sterk said last spring that despite the slow economy, the Cougars might move ahead, taking advantage of possible downsized bids by subcontractors for what was proposed to be a $40-million project.
