Play of the game: Husain Abdullah intercepted a Tavita Pritchard pass and returned it 55 yards for a touchdown with 3:01 remaining, extending the Cougars' lead to 33-17.

Star of the game: Alex Brink completed 32 of 47 passes for 449 yards and a touchdown.

Turning point: Romeen Abdollmohammadi hit a 32-yard field goal with 3:19 remaining, giving the Cougars a 26-17 lead.

Cougars highlight: Brink hit tight end Ben Woodard in the second quarter for his 71st career touchdown pass, breaking a tie with Jason Gesser to become WSU's all-time touchdown leader.

Cougars lowlights: On five different possessions, WSU had the ball inside the Stanford 24-yard line and came up with nothing, beginning with a Chris Ivory fumble on the 3-yard line on the Cougars' first drive of the game.

Key stat: Abdollmohammadi was 4 of 4 on field goals.

Key injuries: Stanford — Center Tim Mattran left with a right foot injury. Linebacker Clinton Snyder left with a left shoulder injury. WSU — TE Jed Collins was helped off the field after a kickoff in the fourth quarter with a leg injury.
