Has there ever been a fleecing quite like the one Mike Leach gave to Bill Moos? Unreal. MORE

Three-way threat: UW sophomore John Ross III is expected to return to his old spot at wide receiver on Saturday — in addition to making his third straight start at cornerback, team sources said. Ross has a team-high four touchdown receptions this season but hasn’t played on offense in the past three games. He’s expected to start again at corner but should also see some snaps at receiver against WSU. Ross is also UW’s primary kick returner, with one return (of 100 yards) for a touchdown this season. The Cougars have allowed three kick-return touchdowns this season, tied for the most in the nation.

Sack attack: The Huskies rank second in the nation with 44 sacks this season, and senior ends Hau’oli Kikaha (17.5) and Andrew Hudson (10) are the first pair of UW teammates since 1982 to have double-digit sacks; Danny Shelton (8.5) could join them by season’s end. The Cougars are tied for 11th in the Pac-12 with 32 sacks allowed this season.

Bowl options: With their victory over Oregon State last week, the Huskies became bowl-eligible for the fifth consecutive season. Depending on the outcome of the Apple Cup, and depending on how things shake out around the Pac-12 this weekend, UW has been linked to three bowls: the Sun Bowl (Dec. 27), Las Vegas Bowl (Dec. 20) and the Cactus Bowl (Jan. 2).

Prediction: Huskies 38, Cougars 24.
