Star of the game
Scott Crichton, the Oregon State sophomore defensive lineman from Tacoma, bedeviled the Cougars with all three of OSU's sacks and had another tackle for loss.
Play of the game
Holding a tenuous 6-3 lead in the third quarter, Oregon State sustained a scoring drive against Washington State with a 30-yard Sean Mannion to Jordan Jenkins pass on a defense the Cougars busted, and four plays later, OSU scored the deciding touchdown of the game.
Turning point
OSU already held a 13-6 lead when it put the game away with an 86-yard touchdown drive midway through the fourth quarter.
Key stat
The Cougars had just 227 total yards against a defense that had been surrendering 399 a game.
Injury report
No new apparent WSU injuries. (WSU coach Mike Leach does not discuss injuries.)
