Can Motum go back to back?

Resourceful forward Brock Motum emerged last year as a junior. Now, as WSU's go-to guy, he'll be opponents' obvious defensive target.

Who handles the rock?

With Reggie Moore's disciplinary exit from the program, the Cougars will be vulnerable to pressure defenses.

Is there enough inside?

Throughout coach Ken Bone's tenure, beef underneath has been an issue. That looks like it might continue.

Will the defense get better?

The Cougars sagged in conference play last year, allowing .462 shooting, .387 on threes. That needs to improve.

Is there freshman help?

Forward Richard Longrus, a sturdy 6-foot-7 Bay Area product, looks to be the most likely to help early.
