Oregon women beat No. 20 Arizona State

Oregon beat 20th-ranked Arizona State, dropping the Sun Devils to fourth place in the Pac-12.

EUGENE, Ore. – Jillian Alleyne, Chrishae Rowe and Ariel Thomas combined to score 76 points and lead the Oregon women’s basketball team to a 98-90 victory over No. 20 Arizona State on Friday night.

The Sun Devils (22-7 overall, 11-6 Pac-12) entered the game tied with Oregon State for third place in the Pac-12. The Beavers, who beat Arizona on Friday, enter their game Sunday against Arizona State in sole possession of third.

Alleyne was 11 of 17 from the field and scored 29 points while grabbing 16 rebounds to lead the Ducks (14-14, 5-12). Rowe came off the bench to score 25 points and convert 10 of 12 free-throw attempts. Thomas scored 22 points.

Oregon shot 43.6 percent from the field as a team, but Alleyne, Rowe and Thomas together shot 57 percent.

Katie Hempen scored 19 points to lead Arizona State, with Joy Burke adding 17 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Kelsey Moos, a graduate of Reardan High School, added 11 points.

Oregon State wins

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Reserve Gabriella Hanson scored 16 points to help Oregon State beat last-place Arizona 78-48.

Starters Sydney Wiese and Alyssa Martin had 14 points each for the Beavers (20-9, 12-5), who shot 55.1 percent from the field.

LaBrittney Jones scored 15 points for the Wildcats (5-23, 1-16).

Colorado romps

BOULDER, Colo. – Arielle Roberson had 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds as Colorado pulled away for a 62-42 victory over UCLA.

Jamee Swan added 14 points for the Buffaloes (16-12, 6-11), who outscored UCLA 35-12 in the second half.

Atonye Nyingifa led the Bruins (12-17, 6-11) with 12 points.
