Gonzaga senior Taelor Karr only needed two seasons to put a stamp on the West Coast Conference.

The point guard was named WCC Player of Year on Tuesday. Karr is the fifth player in Gonzaga's program history, with Chicago Sky All-Star Courtney Vandersloot being the previous most recent winner in 2011.

A native of Kansas, Karr transferred to Gonzaga her junior season after being dismissed for unspecified reasons from the Kansas State team. She became her own recruiter, contacting Zags coach Kelly Graves for consideration on his team.

Due to the circumstances, Karr was immediately granted eligibility by the NCAA. She helped lead the Zags to a ninth consecutive WCC regular-season championship this season, averaging 11 points and 3.2 assists. Karr had a conference-best 44.7 three-point shooting percentage, recording two games where she made six or more.

Graves was named WCC Coach of the Year for the seventh time in his career. Karr and junior guard Haiden Palmer were named to the All-WCC team while junior guard Jazmine Redmon was named WCC All-Defensive Player of the Year.

Sunny Greinacher was honorable mention and redshirt freshman Shelby Cheslek was on the All-Freshman team.

Huskies honored

The Pac-12 released its postseason awards as selected by the conference's 12 coaches.

Washington senior Kristi Kingma and sophomore Jazmine Davis were named to the All-Pac-12 first-team. It's the second honor for Kingma while Davis was the 2012 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year.

Redshirt freshman Talia Walton was All-Pac-12 honorable mention and named to the All-Freshman team.

UW forward Aminah Williams was part of the five-player All-Defensive team.

Washington State sophomore Tia Presley and freshman Lia Galdeira were also All-Pac-12 honorable mention. Galdeira is also on the All-Freshman team and received an honorable mention All-Defensive team nod.

Stanford All-American Chiney Ogwumike was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Cardinal coach Tara VanDerveer, who won her 22nd regular-season conference title, was selected Coach of the Year and Colorado forward Arielle Roberson was Freshman of the Year.
