Stanford leads after Day 2 of the Pac-12 women's swimming championships at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

The Washington State women are in last place, ninth. Friday's action starts at 11 a.m. The competition concludes Saturday. Women's and men's diving competitions are going, as well.

WSU junior Emma Johansson shined for the Cougars, placing third in the C final of the 50 free with a time of 22.97 seconds.

"I was real pleased with the way we swam," said Cougars coach Tom Jager. "Emma J had a great swim this morning and an even a greater swim in the final. I'm proud of them and look forward to building off that momentum."

USC is in second place, and Arizona is third.
