MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's scored 11 of the game's final 14 points to overcome a five-point deficit and hand the Gonzaga women a 54-51 West Coast Conference loss Thursday night.

Gonzaga's final point was a free throw by Stephanie Golden with 2:53 left, which gave the Bulldogs (12-5, 2-1) a 51-48 lead.

Kate Gaze hit a baseline jumper at 2:14 to get Saint Mary's (11-4, 3-0) within a point, but then both teams went cold. The Bulldogs had three opportunities to score but failed.

Danielle Mauldin sank two free throws with 17 seconds left to give the Gaels a 52-51 lead.

Haiden Palmer's jumper from the free-throw line rimmed out for the Bulldogs. Jackie Nared grabbed the rebound for the Gaels, was fouled and made both shots.

Taelor Karr's three-pointer missed as the buzzer sounded.

Karr finished the game with 11 points, as did Palmer. Sunny Greinacher was the Zags' leading scorer with 12 points.
