PULLMAN — Arizona rallied in the second half to beat Washington State 71-65 Friday night in both teams' Pac-12 opener.
Arizona (9-3, 1-0) shot nearly 52 percent in the second half and finished the game shooting just under 45 percent. The Cougars (4-8, 0-1) shot 33 percent from the field and finished with a season-high eight three-pointers.
WSU freshman guard Lia Galdeira had three treys and finished with a team-high 17 points. Carly Noyes had 14 points and nine rebounds, while Sage Romberg added 10 points and seven rebounds for WSU.
Alli Goyd had 19 points and eight rebounds for Arizona.
Stanford cruises past Colorado
BOULDER, Colo. — Chiney Ogwumike had 20 points and 11 rebounds, helping No. 4 Stanford get back on track with a 57-40 win over No. 20 Colorado in the Cardinal's first game since losing the top spot in the AP poll.
The Cardinal (12-1, 1-0) never trailed as it rebounded from a 61-35 loss to Connecticut. Stanford ran its winning streak against league opponents to 79 straight.
Stanford's swarming defense prevented Colorado (11-1, 0-1) from getting into any sort of offensive flow, as the Buffaloes scored just 14 points in the first half — the team's fewest ever at home.
Chucky Jeffery led Colorado with 17 points.

Layshia Clerendon scored 18 points, Afure Jemerigbe had 13 and California defeated Utah in the teams' Pac-12 opener. Brittany Boyd added 11 points to help the Golden Bears (11-1, 1-0) get the program's 600th victory. Michelle Plouffe scored 16 points to lead Utah (9-3, 0-1).

Atonye Nyingifa scored 18 points, leading five players in double figures, to help UCLA beat Oregon in the Pac-12 opener for both teams. Markel Walker had 10 points, 11 rebounds and six assists for UCLA (10-2, 1-0). Jillian Alleyne had 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Ducks (2-11, 0-1).
USC 56, at Oregon St. 55
Alexyz Vaioletama hit a buzzer-beating layup to lift USC over Oregon State. The victory snapped a six-game losing skid by the Trojans (4-8, 1-0), who got 27 points from Cassie Harberts. Jamie Weisner scored 27 for the Beavers (6-7, 0-1).
