Guard John Allen, a Mountlake Terrace grad, scored a season-high 32 points, leading the Western Washington men's basketball team to a 103-74 victory Wednesday over Central Oklahoma at the South Point Holiday Hoops Classic in Las Vegas.

The defending Division II national champion Vikings improved to 9-0 and the win was their 15th straight over the past two seasons. The 9-0 start matches starts in 1967-68 and 1987-88. The longest string of victories at the start of a season is 21 in 1971-72.

Allen, who played just 25 minutes, was 9 of 13 from the field, including 6 of 9 on three-pointers, and 8 of 9 on free throws.

"He's probably one of the best shooters in the country when he's open," said WWU coach Tony Dominguez.

Paul Jones (Kent) added 18 points.
