Undefeated Gonzaga improved to 12th in the Associated Press media and USA Today-ESPN coaches polls released Monday.

The Zags (6-0) were 16th in the coaches poll and 17th in the AP poll last week. Gonzaga's No. 12 ranking is its best since it was 10th in the final AP poll of 2009.

Meanwhile, Zags forward Elias Harris was voted West Coast Conference player of the week.

The 6-foot-8 senior from Germany led Gonzaga to the Old Spice Classic championship in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., by averaging 18.3 points (on 68 percent shooting from the field) and 7.7 rebounds in the three games. Harris was voted the Old Spice Classic's most valuable player.

Notes

• Stanford (6-0) kept the No. 1 spot in the AP women's poll, getting 21 first-place votes and 953 points.

Second-ranked Connecticut (5-0) received 17 first-place votes and 944 points.

• In a men's Top 10 game, No. 10 Kansas beat visiting San Jose State 70-57.

• Louisville officials announced center Gorgui Dieng will miss from four to six weeks because of a broken left wrist suffered in Friday's game against Missouri.
