Nela Richardson named Redfin chief economist

Notable hires and promotions

Nela Richardson joined Redfin as the Seattle-based real-estate company’s chief economist and will lead the Redfin team of economists and data scientists.

Richardson previously served as a senior economist with Bloomberg Government.

She earlier worked as a research economist at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and was a member of its Dodd-Frank financial reform rule-making team.

Architecture:Clayton Smith rejoined Bumgardner in Seattle as a project manager.

Banking: Jerry Simonson was hired as a mortgage loan officer by HomeStreet Bank in its Kirkland office and Michael Press was hired as a mortgage loan officer in the bank’s Lake Union Home Loan Center.

Foundations: Jeanne Jachim was promoted to vice president of Virginia Mason in Seattle and president of the Virginia Mason Foundation.

Health care:Dr. Richard Chung was named chief medical strategist at Vera Whole Health, Seattle.

Nonprofit:Gerald Wright joined Solid Ground in Seattle as director of Hunger and Food Resources. Catherine “Annie” Magnant was named president and CEO of Pet Partners, Bellevue.

Property management: Mary Jo Bennett is accounting supervisor of the finance team at Phillips Real Estate Services, Seattle.

Wealth Management:Sara Asatiani was appointed corporate retirement director at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in Seattle.
