Joan Crooks is CEO of 2 environmental groups

Joan Crooks was named CEO of both the Washington Conservation Voters and Washington Environmental Council.

The two Seattle-based groups have been working together on legislative work since 2001.

Crooks has led the Washington Environmental Council for more than two decades and helped develop the Environmental Priorities Coalition, a network of more than 20 statewide environmental groups.

Banking: Kelly Kava­naugh was named vice president and private banker in The Private Bank of Union Bank in Seattle. Brent Beardall was appointed executive vice president and chief banking officer and Diane Kelleher was named senior vice president and chief financial officer at Washington Federal, Seattle.

Construction: Venture General Contracting in Seattle hired Charles White as superintendent, tenant improvement division, Richard Craiger as superintendent, Timothy Taruscio as superintendent, Brian Finney as assistant superintendent, Jesse McDaniels as assistant superintendent, Matte Schille as project engineer, tenant improvement division, Robert Kuemper as estimator and Cheryl Storrs as project coordinator/contract administrator.

Engineering: James “Jim” Oliver joined WHPacific in Bothell as vice president of water and environment. Matthew Ellis and Darwin Allen joined Otak, Kirkland.

Travel: David Bowers was named chief financial officer at Clipper Vacations in Seattle.

Biotechnology: Dr. Steve Harr was named chief financial officer and head of corporate development at Juno Therapeutics, Seattle.

Ports: Catherine Soper was named public-affairs specialist at the Port of Everett.
