Clise proposes downtown apartment tower

Clise Properties is proposing a 40-story apartment tower with 390 units on a parking lot it owns at 2208 8th Ave., city records show. The tower also would feature about 6,500 square feet of ground-floor retail and underground parking for 390 vehicles.

Cornish College of the Arts also has applied to the city to develop a 40-story residential tower with 425 units and underground parking a block over, at 2101 9th Ave., records show.

A city design review board will examine the two projects on Feb. 18.
