Zynga is like so many game companies - a one trick pony. I'm afraid Farmville is dead. MORE

Online game maker Zynga confirmed Friday that it has closed its Seattle office as part of a global work force reduction.

The San Francisco-based company did not disclose how many employees were affected by the closure.

Zynga opened an office in Pioneer Square three years ago with about 50 employees.

It announced Thursday that it will cut 314 employees, or 15 percent of its workforce, in a turnaround effort.
