Equity Residential gets OK for 477 more SLU apartments

Equity Residential received city approval Thursday for two seven-story buildings on a block between Fairview and Minor avenues.

Equity Residential received city approval Thursday for two seven-story buildings covering almost the entire block bounded by John and Thomas streets, between Fairview Avenue North and Minor Avenue North.

The buildings will add 477 apartments, ground-floor retail and about 11,000 square feet of live-work space to Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood, city records show.

While plans call for demolishing the block’s existing structures, a restaurant at the northwest corner is not part of the project.
