The state Employment Security Department said Wednesday that because of last month’s federal government shutdown, it will combine the September jobless report with October’s and release them on Nov. 20.
State officials had planned to report Washington’s September unemployment rate on Oct. 16, followed by the October report on Nov. 14.
Both reports were delayed because of the federal shutdown, which prevented the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics from transfering the necessary data to the states.
Washington’s unemployment rate in August was 7 percent, up from 6.9 percent in July.
