Expeditors International Chairman and CEO Peter Rose announced he would retire as the Seattle company’s CEO on March 1.

The global logistics company said it would focus on internal candidates in its search to replace Rose, who has been at Expeditors for 32 years, 25 of them as CEO. The company plans to announce the next CEO at a managers meeting in January marking the company’s 35th anniversary.

Rose is expected to continue serving as Expeditors chairman until the annual meeting in May 2015.
