705 Union Station, a 9-story office building located between the sports stadiums and the International District, has been sold for $97.9 million, public records show.

That’s an impressive increase from the $38.3 million it fetched when last sold in May 2011 after being vacated by Amazon. Later the building, at 705 5th Ave. S., was mostly leased to new tech tenants such as Attachmate, Intel and Avvo, according to previous reports.

The buyer in 2011 was a joint venture of Iowa-based insurance giant Principal Financial and PCCP, a San Francisco real-estate investment company. The new buyer is 705 Union Station LLC.
