Amazon, which once fought state sales taxes, says it will begin collecting taxes in Georgia on Sept. 1.

The Seattle-based online retailer currently collects taxes on sales shipped to 10 states, including Washington, California and New York, and it will also begin taxing sales shipped to Virginia on Sept. 1. The company has negotiated tax deals with several more states where it has operations.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Georgia expects to add $16 million in annual tax revenue from online retailers, with sales from Amazon making up the bulk of that amount.
